Medium-depth protocols reach further for more stubborn pigmentation and scarring and involve several days of visible shedding. Cosmelan as a depigmentation protocol
Cosmelan is not a single appointment. An in-clinic mask phase is followed by a structured home phase over weeks and then a maintenance routine. It is designed specifically for stubborn melasma and dark marks, and results depend heavily on compliance with the home stage and sun protection.
Treating melanin-rich skin
Deeper skin tones can be treated safely, but they are less forgiving of over-aggressive protocols. Preparation, conservative depth, correct interval spacing and disciplined SPF matter more than peel strength. Patch testing is part of that process, not a formality.
Combining with other skin treatments

- Light peels have almost none beyond a day of mild redness. Cosmelan and deeper peels involve visible peeling for several days, which we plan around your diary before booking.
- How many sessions will I need?
- Light resurfacing usually runs as a course of several sessions spaced a few weeks apart. Cosmelan is a protocol with a mask phase plus a structured home phase. Your plan is set at consultation.
- What does it cost?

- Will the pigmentation come back?
